    Thanks

The guy who was watching them is Bob[Robert] Hutchins.I drove past his house a while ago and it was empty. He has a son that lives in Medina County somewhere named John. His wife ,possibly ex now,is Susanne, but she goes by Sue or Susan. He had or has family of some sort in Kentucky and was jailed there in '02 or '03 I don't remember the year.

He has done collections work for banks and we were doing reposessions together when i closed my towing company in 2004.When I called him last it was when I reported them stolen and I haven't heard from him since.I have done some research on the net looking for him so I could tell the sheriff, but haven't had much luck.

The only phone number I had for him was a cell, that's gone.I don't have a phone number for his son either. His former landlord for the repo business had to file an eviction notice and they haven't heard from him,he never responded to the notice. His home landlord has no idea where he went.He is in his late 50's or early 60's.

To Gordon, sorry I have not renewed my subscription in a while, hopefully soon though.

      Found him

I tracked down the guy that was storing my '47 PW. He shafted his previous landlord and I by chance talked to the landlords daughter. She told me where he is living. I will do a drive-by and verify this before I talk to him. I really don't care if he sold them,I just want my truck back. Sorry it has been a while but I just don't have the motovation that I did earlier. I don't have a working computer either and that complicates things. I will keep everyone advised as things change.

        keep us posted

That PW looked quite decent . Lets remember they were your trucks that the low , life , interbred doofuss walked off with .

Here we go again! Local sherrif sent me a post card (no phone call this time) that if I didn't contact them by day XXX that my truck would be removed from the NCIS and LEADS systems. I will call them and ask if I am still the one looking for it or are they providing any help? They have access to the data of VIN's, license, etc, not me!

You might ask him just what reason they would have to take it off the list. Ask him if you steal something from him and you wait long enough, does that mean you get to keep it?

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

That's the impression I have. Wait long enough and I guess the records dissappear! Free truck if you wait long enough!

                      ?

That just doesn't seem right, if it was we could all get away with free stuff like that?

                        Don't give up hope

One of My PW parts trucks was stolen 4 Yrs ago and I just got it back two weeks ago. The other one was also taken about 1 1/2 moths ago, & I got it back a month ago. Good thing I got them back when I did, My 56 PW just broke an axle. Good thing I have parts trucks! So don't give up hope.

I hope you have as much luck as I have had

Came home last Friday to realize someone had gone up under my carport and gone though the parts I had stored there and stolen the radiator for my 46 FFPW. I know it was one of the "scrap" guys who come by on trash day looking for metal people have put out by the curb. Of course the cops aren't going to actually do anything about it other than file a report.

So I had to go through and try and hide or lock up anything else I don't want taken from my driveway.

The only advantage is that I hadn't planned on using it for my re-build, but it was a good unit and I could have sold it to someone who would have actually used it vice turning it in for scrap.

I didn't realize that Victoria Island was a hotbed for criminal activity, maybe you should move somewhere safe, ...like LA??? = )

Isn't it impossible for anything to leave the island, unless the crooks have an ocean going bardge?....Martin...???

Did you see the thread (on this forum) about the guy (can't recall his name) who tracked down his stolen PW radiator(s) to a scrap metal place in his area. At first the proprietor was not too helpful, until the guy showed up again with a police officer. THen the memory kicked in and were able to apprehended the culprit.
If interested you could do a search and probably find it.

I did check with a couple, but like you said, not real helpful and the cops don't really care so not a lot of support there. Other problem is there are quite a few scrap yards around this area with the ports nearby.

My concern is that it probably wasn't carfully put in the back of the thief's truck, or handled gently at the scrap yard. If I did find it it probably would be damaged now too.
