That's the truck I was most interested in, but I forgot to ask the owner if he knew what that logo was. Maybe some of the guys here can help with it's identification. And for the life of me, I can't remember where he said he got the truck from. That's another reason to go back, just documenting the trucks of what he knows about their history would take a whole weekend or more.

I went there in my son's car, no room. I will be going back with my truck to pick up a few items I need. To tell you the truth, I couldn't see much because of all the stuff he had in that shop. Plus the shop lighting was next to nothing, which made it real dark in there. Things were just piled up to 10 feet high (some higher). There were so many engines, trannys, pto's, tires, wheels, rearends, doors, fenders, (and the list just keeps on going) laying around you almost tripped over them. It would take weeks just to move stuff out of the way to get at least one of the PW's he had stored inside. Overwhelming, yes and fun ... you betcha.

No, there is no auction nor an estate sale. I just saw an ad and gave the guy a call. In the pic you saw with the people in it was the owner on the left and my son on the right. And yeah, he has many jeep parts. You should have seen this shop ... one had to turn sideways just to walk through it. Too many years of collecting and no restoring.

    Here's a '47 WD34 1.5 ton that was for sale also.

Norm, since I'm not very much in the know about PW's can you give me an idea as to what year you think this truck could be...?

After 1969, the Logo stamping was deleted. So these could be Series 3 factory tailgates that also fit the Sweptline and later Utiline beds.

Here are a few pics of the '42 PW (claimed by the seller). This truck was buried under all kinds of stuff.

My son and I made the trip over to the sellers shop this afternoon to see the trucks that were advertised. This guy has several Dodges (WDX's, WD's and WC's) for sale all 1940's vintages, except for one '52 PW. All of the WD's and WC's were stored outside (plus a '46 PW) and turning to rust. He also has about 8 Jeep J20 series trucks. Inside the shop were 4 PW's. A '46, '47, '52 and the one he says is a '42. I took pics of all of them, except for the '52. There was just so much stuff piled around the truck it would have been difficult to take a picture. There is a '47 WD34 1.5 ton also inside the shop.

The 1st pic is of a couple WD21's. The one on the right has a 9 foot bed. Beware, these are not pretty. I hope the pics are sized correctly.

I've learned to never say never when it comes to Dodge. Every once in a while a few things turn up that defy conventional thinking:

Sometimes there is a logical explanation (home made?) sometimes there is not.........

I would definately take the time to see what he has. My guess would be that it is a WC. If he has been around Dodge all his life, it would be difficult to convince him of this, but I think it is probably the case.
