I've got a clean '74 W300 heavy ranch truck that was a former fire service brush buggy - 360, D60 front, D70 rear, Dullies, a dump box and a winch bumper. I also have a '75 W200 Adventurer with a long bed, 440 and auto -- a rough body and interior but a fresh engine and good tranny -- I have a very clean '76 D200 with the stock custom wheels and I plan on swapping the body and AC onto/into the '75 W. Here in CA we don't have to smog 'em if they're '75 or older ;o). I don't have any good pix series, except my ranch truck, I'll take some and see if I can do a write-up for you. I just finished a rebuild on my '75 Jeep CJ5 -- lots of pix of that. Now for the PWs!

I did correspond with n1265 about his contribution. Given his material as received, two issues prevented me from using the materials.

A significant portion of the text provided was from other internet sources. Those sources would have copyright protection. Consequently, I could not and would not run it. My goal is also to run unique material for readers of the magazine.

The digital photos provided were of insufficient resolution. This can be a common problem with submitted photos. The file sizes were in the 20-50k range. Requirements to print demand an absolute minimum of about 500k, and best results are achieved with images of the highest resolution you camera can produce. That means they would be at least 1MB and could be as large as 2.5MB.

If the materials were submitted again, including only original writing and suitable image quality, we would have something workable.

I explain all this here, after having corresponded with the contributor, rather than simply deleting that post as a result of having handled it, and have people wonder what that meant.


Always set your camera on best quality or highest resolution, and always send me the biggest file you have available.
