MoparNorm: Thats new info to me. I had never heard of this problem! Thanks for sharing. I believe Eaton/Detroit backs these units with a lifetime warranty, but warranties dont help you get off the trail....

Back in that time frame, Eaton differentials were mainly used in GM products, the local Chevy dealer told us that part was unserviceable, replacement only. Not having the internet in those days meant you took the parts guy at his word... = )
I would suppose, with Eaton's huge presence in the automotive world, we might have eventually found that part.
