    I think you still need to look at the timing either at the distributor or the timing chain. Get a timing light and see what it looks like at the timing marks on the crank pulley. If you can't get a timing light try moving the distributor a little one way or the other while at idle. Then tighten the bolt and test drive it. Also check the vacuum hoses for any leaks. Timing light will help a bunch.

    Finally got time to time my truck, it was about 6 deg. ATDC, I set it on about 12 deg. BTDC. It runs much better, no more hesitation. Is that too far?
