I have a 76 W100 and the tranny is getting rebuilt, the 203 is out also. How do I check chain stretch? And, is there anything else that I should do while its out?

Never having one apart but understanding the workings of this TC wouldn't holding one output side and turning the other give a idea as to how much slop is in the chain? I don't know what the free play is supposed to be but if you can turn one a good bit I'd say a chain replacement would be a good thing. Try to find a factory service manual to help diagnose your 203. A chain and related parts probably isn't going to be a cheap proposition. Just my 2 cents.
