Outstanding work. I like the way your are methodically working your way through all the rust problems on this truck. You have a clear vision of what you want and no amount of rust is stopping you.

Twenty years ago, I restored a 68 Plymouth Satellite convertible which needed floor pans, the torsion bar cross member repaired, inner wheel wells/rear quarters repaired, the trunk floor and the last 18" of frame replaced. I know exactly what you are going through.

I got the driver side almost 100% completed today. If I didn't have night class tonight I would keep going til dark.

thank you for posting all the pics. i've always wondered how things like this were done. i just got a stick welder at a yard sale, and you've given me confidence/ideas to try different things with sheet metal. the ground clamp clipped onto a c-clamp are just examples of ideas i'm not blessed mechanically enough to come up with on my own. thanks again.

LOL. I haven't touched this project since like october. We were preparing for the baby and night school was wearing me out. I'm actually planning on working on it this weekend. I have to swap out the early style crossmember for the later style crossmember so I can fit that 6BT cummins in there.

I finally got off my butt and got some work done today. I didn't get the motor and tranny pulled like I wanted, but I did swap out the 70s crossmembes for an 80s style that will hold that cummins up fine.

The engines out finally. I pulled the transmission and motor as a complete unit. It took awhile to get the transmission crossmember unbolted. The 36 years of dirt and grease didn't help any.
