I have a 440, 338 HP version that I was going to install in my W200.
After reading and learning about the Poly that was in it, and reading about Polys nearly beating 440's in drag races with nearly the same amount of torque, I stayed with a 330 HP, 375 ft. lbs, Poly A318.
Now I have a near equal motor that gets nearly 20 mpg....= )
Just have to find a project for the 440 now.....= )

My thing is I've already got the 440 and it sure ain't stock! I'm just wanting something bigger than my W200 clubcab & stay Dodge. I've been eyeballing 5 & 10 ton military 6x6's & bobbers though, something about 53" tires & 855 or 903 motors appeals more to me than a superduty,z71, or megacab....I could see a poly hang with a STOCK 440 in a drag race, its mainly about power/weight ratio....Anyhow I think SHAMROCK"s a nice project going & something ya don't see everyday

Gotta agree, that seems to cut to the chase with the least amount of hassle & expense.

Going to use the 413 crank

going to use 440 steel crank internally balanced, with the proper harmonic balancer what i'm looking for is all the cooling and low end torque I can get I need it to pull my back hoe around. california is changing all the rules on diesel trucks now. need something before 1975 smog law and gasoline so I don't have to comply with the new carl moyer jack off law, that these dumb *** beaurocrats in sacramento came up with.
this state is too big for these hollywood homosexuals to handle anymore there I said it yeah!!

...or a pre 2006 Cummins, that would do nicely and be exempt in any Pre- 2006 Dodge...= )
There is more than one way to skin a cat, just check the regulations....they are not retroactive...yet.

filters required by these j.o"s regardless of the year it looks like a chemistry set on the truck with urea filter and all the crap

                Retro-active?
I can't believe that is even legal. Are they going to reimburse you for your loss?
Seems to me, per the 1st Amendment of the Constitution, that making your property unusable, violates the "takings" clause of the 1st amendment, which prohibits the taking of property without just compensation.
Not that I'd expect the socialist state government to be smart enough to know that...
