Good weather, uncrowded trails, cheap motels, and fuel at much lower rates. Ran "Heck's" Revenge, Fins & Things north and south, Little Lion's Back, and Moab Rim. I was a day late, and Gus had already broken (hard to follow the 4WD big dogs with 3WD!) Trail carnage for me was steering linkage pulling apart, wheel stud broke (again) on the hummer rims, cracked rear shackle, and an alternator which seized the last day at the end of the trail.
That appears to be the start of the Poison Spider/Golden Spike trails, which would make the water to be the Colorado. Keith didn't mention this trail, but that's what it looks like to me.

Oh,... I was thinking it was Moab Rim, south of town?? Then looking across the river toward the Kane Creek road, see it peaking out of the brush across the river?
I guess the only way to know for sure is to get out there....= )
The first and third photos are Moab Rim. Kane Creek road is just below the Rim trail, but I don't know what the road is on the other side of the river without looking at a map.
Had to air down to make it up this hill. The view does not show how steep this sand was - now I am going to have to go back and watch some Rat Patrol episodes to see how they did it . . .
