New M37 owner again

well unfortunitly the project got put on hold for awhile as work got extremly slow and had to put the funds in other places. Now that works picking back up iv jumped back in. Here are some current pictures. Just boxed in the frame with 1/4 inch steel. got the cab back on and the motor is sitting on the trailer hoping to make the motor and trans mounts this weekend

Found this burried in a corner once I cut out the seats anyone ID it wondering if its from its active duty?

boxed frame

I know why people box a frame, for greater rigidity. My question is, does an M37 frame need to be boxed? Your work looks great! I really like the idea, just never equated that practice with an M37.
I think of street rods, etc.

The brass case looks like a 30-06 blank, what is the head stamp?

I think the boxed frame is out of nessesity taking a low powered truck under 100Hp to high HP as the motor sits now it was well over 600Hp and I am hoping to take it over 700 in the m37. I would hate to see the frame twist or crack so for the $170 and 10 hours it tooks to box it out it seemed to be a great idea that added tons of strength to the frame.

Got the motor transmission, and transfer case it. Didnt have the tranny mount so I didnt build that yet but should get to that this week.

I dont off hand I have the paperwork though and when I get home (Travel for work 5 days a week) Ill look and let you know.
Thanks though I am loving getting to work on the truck my goal right now is to just get it running I will do the body work this upcome winter while its to cold to be doing much driving and I wont mind it being apart again

Are you going to put the intercooler on, and where? Do you think those springs will hold the weight? I think you have done a great job, I'm doing the same thing to WC. It looks like you have plenty of room for your feet around the colum. I'm taking the entire firewall out and putting a street rod type of fire wall, just to clean it up.

I am going to run non intercooled for now as there really isnt much room, I am however going to be running a large water meth system to get intake temps down a little. The springs will not hold the weight. In some of the pictures you can see the peice of square tubing between the frame and springs so it stays up. I was going to run a full 4 link but its to much money now, going to get some custom springs bent up to support the weight and mount them outboard of the frame. I do have plenty of room around the colum right now trying to figure out transmission (auto or 5spd) and a clutch pedal if needed.
