Thank you much! This is one area on vehicles I do not have experience with (heavy engine work), and my so called "expert mechanic" best friend had advised me to get those parts to fix my oil in the spark plugs, and burning oil problem.

I appreciate you steering me out of my wrong direction!

Obviously your buddy is not familiar with the 230, replacing rings will be no difference in labor than tearing down for an overhaul, not justifiable to do it just for ring replacement,and you simply would not be happy with the results.
