Yesterday was my birthday so my wife invited the kids and grandkids over for supper. After we ate it was time to give the grandsons a ride in "The Stubby" truck. I loaded up seven of the most excited boys aged 2 through 9 and off we went. We have 6 acres of rolling yard and we all had a blast. The boys dog piled on each other against the tailgate as we went up the hills, laughing and screaming the whole time. As if this weren't enough I was begged to get the "Army" truck out for a ride. So I traded out Stubby for Mike Morgan's 41 WC 1/2 ton with troop seats and we started all over again. The boys thought the seats and the truck were really cool. Like I said it doesn't get much better than that for your birthday. This grandpa made some huge cool points last night.

At my niece's 6 yr b-day party a coupla years ago her parents had it at a local horse stable. They startled off by letting the kids ride (be lead actually) a pair of gentle old horses, one at a time. Later the kids got to pile onto one of those Kawasaki Mule type vehicles, 7 or 8 at a time, which they liked much better. The main advantage the machine had over the animals was the kids could do it "together".
Your birthday won't be forgotten by either you or them! No card, gift or amount of money could approach what you received.
Ask yourself this question: "Where we meant to live in the Past, the Present, or the Future?" Why the Present of course, yet so much of our energy is wasted living in yesterday's regrets or worrying of tomorrow's possible failures that we lose our todays.
Lucky for you that you were able to be in the present on your birthday & with those who mean the most to you.

Thanks guys, my son in laws Dad has a model toy collection and trains but the boys aren't allowed to touch them. My son's father in law has a pond and golf cart. So maybe it is true that the one with the most or biggest toys wins. LOL. I love to take them around for rides in the trucks and when they do get older they'll know what it is to ride in a real truck. Maybe one day I can pass along some of what I've learned to my crew.
