Well I had 2 paragraphs typed in, hit the wrong key and its all gone. Anyways Walter Cronkite seemed more dignified than the millions of pretty faces we have today belting the world's miserys at us in hi-def 24/7. Kennedy, Nam, MLK, and Apollo were kinda before my time (I'm 40). But his voice is forever ingrained in my childhood memory. Watched Cronkite & NBC's John Chancellor while eating supper as a kid (in rural Texas lunch is called dinner & dinner is called supper).
Back in the day of 3 TV channels, no remotes, vacuum tubes and the National anthem played at sign-off every night.
