I drove the ranger home last weekend (2000 miles round trip) and as I was finishing up my trip back somewhere in Missouri the steering stiffened up quite a bit. Been driving back and forth to work (4 miles a day) and in spite of my best attempts to ignore it hoping the problem will go away, the steering is tough and there's no turn back in the wheel (keeps turning when I let go). Pump is and has been full of transmission fluid like the owners manual says. The pump has always whinned since I got the truck even replaced it soon after I got the truck, and what do you know it still whinned. It was a remanufactured part so its quite possible its on its way out. Not sure about the lack of turnback in the wheel, never had that before. Danger will hopefully be replaced in January with a D150 when I'm done with school, just need to keep it running till then. Any way to tell which is in need of being replaced?
