  • Supreme Court Decision

It was good to see common sense continue to prevail at the Supreme Court regarding the application of the 2nd Amendment in the MacDonald case- hopefully it will continue.

I wish more people would actually read the 2nd amendment.
many think it is there so we all can have a gun if we want to go hunting.
It is there so we the people can protect ourselves from danger and that includes our own Govt. if it should become tyranical.
If you look at history and what leaders outlawed civilians from having guns it may be a wake up call.
There was Mussolini, Hitler,Stalin, Castro, Mao Si Tung, and Bill Clinton and now,,,do you see a pattern here.

      2ND Amendment

The decision by the supreme court was right on. But our liberties are fragile. There were four dissenters on the court regarding this matter. We must be ever vigilant from those who would legislate from the bench and ignore the Constitution or our freedoms will be in peril.

There will likely be more cases headed the Supreme's way as the "limits" of the two recent cases are explored. Obama will try to insert a few more "progressive" jurists into the Court to limit 2nd Amendment expansion- and this is where a lot of effort needs to be focused from now on- the first two nominations just sailed right through!

The new strategy by the prohibitionist side will be "Yes, BUT"- yes, in theory you can have a firearm, but in fact we will make it so difficult and expensive that most of you will give up trying. NYC is touting themselves as a model, and other Liberal La-La Lands will try to follow suit. This is where most of the legal action is going play out on the 2nd Amendment limits for awhile, which is why it's vital to have a Conservative majority on the Court for the forseeable future...

I went to a foot doctor a few months ago. It was my first visit at that office. Because I was new there I had to fill out a bunch of paper work.
Mind you I went to a foot doctor. There were two questions that really grabbed my attention.
          (1) Do I drink alcohol and if so how much.
          (2) Do I own a hand gun and if so do I keep it locked away with the amunition locked in a separate location.
Oh yes they wanted my Social Security number also.
To all three qustions I replied NYB.
When the woman that took the form from me asked what NYB stood for I replied ,," None Yo Business".
She started to get a little huffy but stopped when I said why do you want to know these things, The social security people tell us notto use our SS number as a form of ID unless dealling with the SS office.
And as far as if I own a gun, its totally none of my foot doctors business .

An unloaded gun is as useless as bumps on a bowling ball.

Sounds like your Podiatrist is collecting data for some organization with interests other than foot care. I suppose if you come in drunk with a gunshot wound to your foot, your secret will be out...

I saw a member of this forum who's signature is right on, but can't remember who it is
              That signature says
"those who give up freedom for security soon has neither"
The State Motto of New Hampshire is right on too
              "Live Free or Die"
I am a strong believer in "Life ,Liberty , And the Pursuit of Happiness"
              My own!

Ha ha ha. Ibetter be careful.
I aked him why they asked those questions, I knew it was a rhetorical question but I fired in out just to see what would happen.
He replied, "we don't use the information for anything".
I then asked then why ask it??
He got a little irritable and changed the subject.

Here's another famous quote that applies to our current direction:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilazations has been 200 years.

Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage."

About 40% of the U.S. population is getting some sort of Federal assistance. I'd say we're far down the River of No Return, even though the Founding Fathers explicitly set up a Republic to avoid the dangers of Democracy.

                    Saddly you are right.
I am not sure just who said it but , Goverments do not generate any income so in order to give anything away it first must take it from others.

I am fairly sure Mark Twain said this, " any goverment that robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on Pauls vote."
                    And here we are..
