  • My latest project- almost a Dodge, a cousin maybe?

Here are a couple of photos of my latest project. It is a 1981, Jeep, J10 Honcho pickup. This has been sort of a fill-in project until I get another Power Wagon to work on.

Well, I am unable to upload any others right now, maybe later.

Very nice. In CA the 1981 J Truck had high back buckets, maybe as an option. Food for thought as you work on it, those seats do look great though!

        Norm,
The Honcho package did not include bucket seats. Bucket seats were standard equipment with the Laredo package. My brochures do not show the bucket seats available as an option, except with the Laredo package.
The Laredo package, that had the bucket seats, also had the carpet run up the back of the cab, to just below the rear window. Usually no carpet up the back, means no factory bucket seats.
However, like Dodge, most anything was possible when dealing with AMC.

Thanks Jeff, you are correct, it was the Laredo package that came with carpet and high backs. Your post cleared out the cobwebs...= )

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

                Yes. Figurative.

I recall, years ago, Jose Feliciano was on the Johnny Carson show. For those who do not know, Jose is blind.

Johnny had his guests lined up on the couches as was his habit, with the most recently introduced guest near him. As the next guest came in, the others would move over one seat.

Carson and the current guest were talking about some object.

"Hold it up where I can see it." Feliciano said.

There was the briefest moment where the remark made perfect sense, due to the circumstances, and then everybody laughed because they realized who said it.

                See what I mean?
