About 7 p.m. during the snowstorm here, I hit a patch of ice in my 3/4 ton Dodge Ram CTD, and slid off the road into a ditch, running up on alongside a chain link fence. I could not extricate myself in spite of 4WD.
I walked home about 2 1/2 miles in the storm and got "Kirkwood" out. I drove down with a neighbor and chained up the Ram to the pintle hitch of the power wagon. Kirkwood pulled the Ram out like it was nothing, which is saying something as the Diesel ram weights close to 6,000.
Next stop for me is to get the insurance man to appraise matters and then the body shop with the Ram, which I can still drive although I think a tie rod may be bent a bit (steering wheel no longer centered).
