Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

Yea, I have knee problems since I've been back from Iowa, hoping to be back in the shop after the 4th.

        Happy Independence day to everyone.

        Thanks,

What's happening with your knee? This is kind of like talking shop. Between two knees I have three scope jobs.

From time to time it gives me some pain, but taking it easy and Ibuprofen fix that. Sometimes it's from not being able to straighten the knee out for long drives/flights, etc.. Then every once in a great wile I kneel down and BAM! If feels like I kneel down on a rock, but I didn't. Sharp pain and knee swells, won't bend with out a lot of pain and I'm off to the Doc's.

I've had several Doc's tell me it's Gout, but I don't drink or eat organ meats, and have never tested positive for uric acid. They all prescribe the gout anti-inflammatory and it always works with time.

This time I had some manageable pain while in Iowa, didn't drive the trucks as much as I'd liked as I didn't want the clutch action to make it worse, and survived. Once home I took the PW to MO to show Pop and my brother the finished truck, and managed to get it a little dirty (dust and irrigation's don't mix). So I gave it a wash, and wouldn't you know it, when I knelt down, BAM! I was in trouble.

I tried the Ibuprofen as I was out of Indocin, but come Monday, I was headed to Urgent care. They looked it over and took x-rays and thought it might me a torn meniscus, or a deteriorating cartilage. Since the Ibuprofen wasn't helping I got some Indocin, and it helped a lot. I got into a GP today and she thinks it might just be arthritis based on family history and changed the meds to an arthritic anti-inflammatory. At least it's easier on my stomach.

Go back tomorrow to have some fluid drawn and send for verification test that it's not gout and get a shot to help.

            Getting older every day,

Had my third knee surgery yesterday morning.
The first two were on my left, now there working on the right.
                          to fix a torn meniscus.
Feels much better now except for the normal soreness, swelling, stiffness following surgery.
At least the injury pain I had is gone.
Going to be laying around for a while with my leg elevated, and ice'd to control swelling and clots.
                          Will,
                          Don't mess with it.
See an orthopedic surgeon and have a MRI done.
It is the only way to truly see the joint and cartilage for a proper evaluation..

I wish medical technology would come up with repairable joints, so we could put in new ball joints and tie rod ends as required.

                              Tom,

Yea, I' went in today for the fluid draw so they can test and confirm it's not gout. I also got a steroid shot, but it was a lot better even before the shoot. As of now it's almost back to full motion and very little pain. Will see how the test go and see what she see's next month on the followup visit.
