Last weekend my friend Todd and I drove out to Pitsburgh Pa to see the autorama car show. while there I had the privelage to watch Gene Winfield chop the top on a 1947 chevy coupe. What a nice guy, he was happy to answer any questions and sign autographs. It was very interesting to see him shaping filler panels using a mallet, sandbag and english wheel. I watched him gas weld some filler pieces on the chevy, he hammer and dollied the welds while hot, made a big difference, no real grinding nescasary and almost no bondo needed. If you ever get a chance to meet this gentleman, I'd strongly recommend it, at 86 years of age I don't know how much longer he'll be around, He's good people and a real wealth of knowledge.

    That would have been fascinating.

What a wonderful thing to be 86, still productive, and working at what you love.

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?
