You know one side of lug nuts are left handed right? If not, could be why the breaker bar didn't last. You can only tighten them so much... :)

Yeah I did realize that the two sides of the truck have different threads. I just think it has been a very long time since this truck has had any attention at all. After I bought a quality breaker bar and I heated the lug nuts up a little and applied some candle wax they came off without a problem.

I took a few more pictures of the boom to see if in fact they are the same.

It appears your crane is PTO driven where mine is hand cranked

They were the go to wrecker in the thirties and forties.
                        Very few left.
I will look to see if I can find anything.
Looks to be in great shape

                          2nd power wagon

Just got back from picking up my second power wagon today. I got a tip on this truck a few months ago and it was just too good of a deal to pass up. What you can't see in the picture is that is does have front fenders, hood, radiator and cover, and the grill. I'm not sure of the year because the I.D. tag is missing, so assuming the bed is original to the truck, it's a first series.

                            I drive a DODGE, not a ram!

                            Thanks,

You will find the vin on the driver's side frame rail, near the top shock mount. That will tell you when and where it was made.

There is a guy on ebay that sells data plates, and he will stamp them too.
