Picked the cab up today and dropped it off at the body shop. I dropped off the front bumper and 4 stock rims to be blasted . I brought a rim home that they blasted and primed it. I'll have a total of 9 stock rims between the 2 trucks. I need to have it ready by next year's rally.

Well... I got the bed off of the frame with the help of my step-son and 2 of his buddies. It's now strapped to the trailer ready to take to the blaster.

Removed the transfer case this evening. I hope to get the rear shocks off and finish removing the small stuff. Then it goes to the blaster...

Got the rear shocks and the steering stabilizer off today. Ground down some pesky exhaust hangers as well...

Please take a look at the front crossmember. You probably noticed that it is missing 2 bolts. Is this a hard fix? Should I take it to a frame shop to have it repaired? If so, should this be done before or after I have it sand blasted?

Comments and helpful hints are welcomed and appreciated....Thanks...

Can you align the holes with a pointed bar?

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

You mean like a crow type bar? Or something like a pry bar...

                            No, not a carpenter's crowbar, a mechanic's pry bar. Google OTC 7166.

I stopped and talked to an old friend this morning who works at a frame and alignment shop. He agreed to repair the cross member and make sure the frame is straight if I could get it to his shop. Done....
