Well, if I had my choice it would be one of these, rubber mats w/ floor drains, 5 or 6 speed, and a 3 liter OM-642 Mercedes Diesel (184hp / 295 lb.ft.) I even like the stamped steel rims.
You know, that new jeep J8 platform that is being used overseas might be the hot ticket for a Jeep pickup chassis - its already got everything: dana 60 rear, Dana 44 front ect... Throw lockers at it, and a decent power plant, and it could be a better setup than the PowWag chassis... It even looks like a Jeep!

Well, it might. Fiat is conducting a review of everything at the moment and currently, you can order a "knock-down" kit from AEV for a J8 with 2.8 diesel.
Not the perfect scenario, but it is possible and AEV will assist with showing you how to register and license a kit Jeep.
