I am saddened to hear of the passing of Gene Buch. He was a real catalyst in making the Iowa rally into the great reunion that it is. The first time I attended the rally, I shook hands with him and he made me feel at ease. It was a traditional handshake without all of the show. I appreciate that.
He told me to make myself at home on his place. I appreciate that too.
Gene will be remembered; not because his name is carved on a tombstone, but because it is carved into the hearts of other people.
