I think it's s great idea as I think we are a close enough group that self policing would be all right. I'd be leary about allowing non subscribers to sell as it could become a scammers pit.

I'll probably keep using ebay. I went to a gun auction not long ago, their fee was 17% I believe. I think that was charged to the buyer. So, I guess I can deal with 12% on ebay. Not happily, but it's really the only option I have with so much traffic.

Not directly related to the topic at hand, but comes to mind.

A local old timer auctioneer often uses the phrase "I have never sold one of these for less than X amount of dollars." He is not lying, but truth is he probably never sold one of the particular items being bid on. Just his way of implying an inflated value in the bidders' heads.
