Footings are in and concrete walls are up. Pouring slab tomorrow. Framing starts next week. That should take a day.

Slab is all poured and ready to start framing this week. Had to take two more trees down today that were a bit closer than I thought...

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

It will be three bays with 12 foot high ceilings. About 1350 SF.

                      Good progress!
Check out my post on Joe's forum to see about placing Carpenter Bee traps early in the spring, before they attack your new building (if you have exposed wood eaves, etc.)

Well, the framers are all done and now time for the roofers. The weather held this weekend but the roofing paper went down Saturday anyway. Should be "under shingles" by Thanksgiving, and then things will slow down. Electric wiring party starts Thursday. My neighbor pulled the permit and he'll put a 100 amp sub panel in.

                          Very nice!
I guess your HOA mandates that the garage looks like a house.
Not down here, no HOA, but no neighbors either. My shed is nowhere near as nice!

                            Doc:

Yes, we are testing the water with the HOA.... The garage has to "fit in with" the design of the house. Which means it will cost a lot more money. I already stress out some folks with all my banging, cutting and welding at 0500 on a Saturday morning... I'm just finishing up this bridge now which will allow access the open pasture acreage for next year. This was a blast.

Got some shingles put up today. Now it can rain with no worries... I also got most of the wiring done. Hope to finish up the rest of the home runs tomorrow and the 50 amp outlets for the welders and plasma cutter. Glad I'm friends with my neighbor who is an electrician... Got all the do's and don'ts and had a blast.
